BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in KINESIOLOGY

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology provides a broad training in all things related to physical activity and human movement. Students investigate movement across the lifespan from mechanical, physiological, psychological, sociocultural, behavioral, instructional and professional points of view. Focused concentration areas provide additional background knowledge and preparation for advanced study or professional careers in allied health, exercise science, gerokinesiology, physical education, recreation and physical activity promotion, sport studies, and strength and conditioning.

MASTER OF SCIENCE in KINESIOLOGY

The Master of Science in Kinesiology prepares students to enter professional careers in areas such as corporate/commercial fitness, older adult fitness and wellness, advanced pedagogy, sport, exercise and performance psychology, and athletic coaching. The program also prepares students who wish to pursue doctoral programs in Kinesiology or related fields. With a strong foundation in the natural and social sciences, graduates gain knowledge and skills needed to provide scientifically grounded, community-focused and ethically principled expertise to a diverse clientele, from children to older adults.

MASTER OF SCIENCE in ATHLETIC TRAINING

The CSUF Athletic Training Program is a full-time professional program that prepares students to become certified athletic trainers. The American Medical Association recognizes athletic training as a healthcare profession. Students will complete traditional didactic coursework and concurrent clinical education experiences, emphasizing clinical reasoning skills that encompass the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities.
