Prospective Students

The MPH Program is a 21-month residential program. The MPH program provides a well-rounded public health experience to develop core competencies with the opportunity for tailoring to educational and professional goals. The rigorous and engaged curriculum focuses on transformative public health practice across multiple domains. Our graduates have gone on to work in various levels of government, community-based organizations, hospitals, and health plans, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Orange County Health Care Agency, Cal Optima, and Kaiser Permanente. Graduates have also gone on to pursue doctoral education in a fields including public health, health informatics, and education.

The diversity of our students is reflected in many ways, including the various undergraduate academic backgrounds. As an interdisciplinary field, the public health workforce is made up of professional from a wide array of fields including but not limited to the social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science), biological and environmental sciences, mathematics and engineering, and management and administration. We welcome students from different disciplines to apply to the program.
