Scholarships:

Army ROTC offers a variety of scholarship programs. The length of scholarship depends on the length of time a Cadet will take to graduate. Normally, scholarships range from 4 to 1 year scholarships. Certain Cadets may have their scholarships extended for up to 5 years. Scholarship programs are available for Cadets who desire to compete for active duty and Cadets who desire to have civilian careers and serve in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard. These types of scholarships are highly competitive. If you have questions about ROTC scholarships contact 1LT Varas (657) 278-5933, nvaras@fullerton.edu.

Scholarships Pay:

  • Full tuition or up to $10,000 for room and board

  • $1200 for books annually

  • A tax-free monthly stipend of $300-$500, based on your academic status

Requirements:

  • Be a United States citizen

  • Be between the ages of 17 and 26

  • Possess a high school diploma, or equivalent

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

Four-Year Scholarships are intended for current high school seniors or college students with fewer than 30 credit hours who have no prior military experience. In addition, the prospective cadet must be willing to make an immediate commitment to the Army ROTC. Prospective cadets who choose this scholarship option will enter the ROTC Basic Course as an MS I cadet.

Three- year scholarships are intended for college students with no prior military experience who have between 30 and 60 college credit hours. High school seniors who are unable to receive a four year scholarship may instead be considered for a three year scholarship in which benefits begin during the second year of college. Selection is based on performance in academic studies and military science (if already enrolled in ROTC), successfully passing the Army Physical Readiness Test, a personal interview and observation by the Cadre, and on demonstrated motivation towards an Army career (Active, Reserve, or National Guard duty).

Two-year scholarships are intended for college students who have between 60 and 90 college credit hours. The requirements may be waived for current and former Soldiers who have completed Basic Training. Prior service cadets who receive a scholarship may be allowed to enter directly into the ROTC Advanced Course as an MS III, depending on the amount of college coursework completed. Under this option, prospective cadets enter the ROTC Advanced Course as an MS III cadet.
