ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR M.S. IN KINESIOLOGY
Admission Requirements
Graduate degree applicants must meet the all-university requirements for admission, which include a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units attempted. To be further admitted into the Kinesiology master's program, students must also:
(1) have an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent field) with a GPA of at least 3.0 in upper division major coursework;
(2) complete the Graduate Record Exam general test;
(3) submit a 500-word essay describing their academic/professional interests; and
(4) submit two letters of recommendation.
Students without an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent field) will be required to complete a prescribed set of prerequisite courses (usually 12- 15 units) with a GPA of at least 3.0. It is strongly recommended approval be obtained for coursework from the graduate advisor before registering for courses. Any student with a GPA deficiency must take additional coursework, as specified by the Kinesiology Graduate Studies Coordinator.
