Biosketch:

Dr. Tsang is a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology (KNES) and serves as Clinical Coordinator of the Undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). Prior to coming to California State University, Fullerton he has served in the role of ATEP Program Director and Clinical Coordinator at California Lutheran University and Michigan State University. Dr. Tsang earned his Ph.D. from Penn State University, University Park, PA, a M.S. from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA, and a B.Ed. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI. His scholarship has frequently been presented at various conferences around the country such as the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Clinical Symposiums, Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association (FWATA) Annual Meetings, and the American College of Sports Medicine National Meeting. He is published in various research journals including the Journal of Athletic Training and the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation. Dr. Tsang is active within the NATA, where he serves as a member of the Career Center Project Team, a reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, and has judged student presentations at annual meetings. Dr. Tsang also serves as a site reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

   
Interest Areas:

Dr. Tsang’s research interests include the efficacy of therapeutic modalities and manual therapeutic techniques in treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation. More specifically, his primary research focuses on the physiology of cryotherapeutics, compression therapy, and elevation in relation to reduced effusion following acute injury.
