Biosketch:

Robert Kersey is a Professor of Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton. Before coming to Cal State Fullerton in 1997, he was an Associate Professor in Human Performance at San Jose State University. Dr. Kersey received his doctoral degree from the University of New Mexico. His dissertation topic involved the incidence of anabolic-androgenic steroids use among community college student-athletes. He was a practicing athletic trainer at Hartnell College (82 – 95), in addition to various other institutions. Dr. Kersey is currently the Director for Cal State Fullerton’s nationally accredited (CAAHEP) undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program. He serves his profession as a reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, in addition to being a manuscript reviewer and the Book Review Editor for Athletic Therapy Today. He currently is on the writing committee for a Position Statement on Team Physicians for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Additionally, he is the chair for the Position Statement on Anabolic Steroids for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
