A Message from the Dean

hank you for visiting the College of Health and Human Development website. We are very proud of our many outstanding programs and of the service we provide to students and to the community. With over 4,000 majors, our programs are among the most popular and fastest growing in the university. Our various degree, credential, and licensure programs focus on areas of important individual and social concern—the health, development, and well-being of people of all ages from infancy to older adult years.

Through our teaching, research, and service activities, the College’s goal is to provide a quality education that "makes a difference" in the personal and professional lives of students, and through them, their families and the community. Emphasis is placed on both theory and practice, with special attention to the development of critical thinking, leadership, and humanistic skills needed to function in a widely diverse and ever-changing society.

We are extremely proud of our students, faculty and staff. We value and celebrate their diversity, their varied cultural backgrounds, and the unique contributions each makes towards our educational mission.
