Description of Internship: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County provides children facing adversity with strong, professionally supported one-to-one mentors. Through the Enrollment and Community Based Internship Program a student will gain the necessary skills to understand how a non-profit operates on a day to day basis. In the Enrollment Department, a student will be able to interact with our potential volunteers, children, and parents by assisting with weekly introductory phone calls and emails, providing professional customer service to each participant and help maintain tracking and organizing the each participant within the database. In the Community Outreach/Recruitment Department, a student will be able to use their communication skills to advocate for the agency at various out of office events. The student will learn to articulate the mission, the agency needs with ease and comfort to a variety of audiences. Recreation Programs are created to engage volunteers and children, a student will support the communication between agency and volunteer and provide assistance at all related events.
